CPA Chad Storck joins Joel Adams and Associates as co-owner
Joel Adams and Associates is pleased to announce that Certified Public Accountant Chad Storck joined the firm as a co-owner at the start of 2023. This announcement follows the 2022 year-end retirement of financial advisor Joel Adams, who founded the company in 1994. Storck will lead Joel Adams and Associates into the future alongside established co-owner, CPA and Certified Financial Planner™ Bray Creech, who joined the firm in 2014.
“I am delighted that Chad has joined the team, and I’m thrilled to place the firm in such talented, hardworking and capable hands. I couldn’t have hoped for better,” Adams said. “Not only is Chad incredibly bright, he’s also one of the nicest people you may ever meet — and he’s passionate about improving people’s financial lives. Together, Bray and Chad will deepen this practice’s commitment to comprehensive financial planning, no matter what a person’s unique, individual goals are.”
Storck holds a master’s degree in taxation from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, and he previously worked for the largest regional public accounting firm in the Southeast. For the last 14 years, Storck and his wife, Andrea, have owned the successful local accounting business Storck CPA, P.C., which they founded in 2009. Recognized as one of the top CPAs in the area, he has repeatedly appeared in Mountain Xpress’ annual “Best Of” list in the categories of Accountant/CPA Firm and Place to Have Your Taxes Prepared. Throughout his two decades in public accounting, Storck has helped individuals and small, closely held businesses navigate day-to-day operations, budgeting, tax planning, income tax preparation, retirement planning and succession planning.
Now with Joel Adams and Associates, Storck combines his skills and interests with Creech to add even more value for clients. Together, their vision is to dig even deeper into comprehensive financial planning, with an emphasis on tax planning and tax-smart investment approaches (though tax return preparation will continue to not be part of the firm’s service offerings). Adams, who retired at the end of 2022, continues to participate on the firm’s investment committee, where his deep knowledge, expertise and insights remain invaluable to the team.
“Over the last eight years or so, Chad and I have worked together professionally with mutual clients,” said Creech. “Over that time, he’s become a great friend. I count myself incredibly grateful that I now get to share a business with such a smart and compassionate person like Chad. Our clients are going to be so well served by his deep experience and expertise in tax planning matters.”
An avid cyclist with a deep appreciation for the natural world, Storck shares Adams’ and Creech’s values for a healthy planet and incorporates those principles into his daily practice. He moved to Asheville in 2004 after falling in love with the area on a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. He and his wife continue to embrace life’s adventures every day while raising their daughter, Maya.
“I have dedicated my career to supporting small businesses and enterprising individuals, to helping them remain confidently independent,” Storck said. “As these folks experience sustainable success, many begin long-term planning for their businesses, employees, communities and themselves. Working through these details is extremely rewarding. It takes a team to get everything just right, and I have found Bray and Joel’s approach to be unique, thoughtful, often outside-the-box and simply brilliant. They advise by drawing from many facets of life. Our collaborative work has always been a natural fit, so I’m excited to merge our financial and tax advisory services under one roof.”
